Great place. We stopped to break up a long drive. Parked up top just past the playground and hiked down to the beach. Beautiful trail along the cliffs. Very nice pebble beach at the end. You can drive down to the beach too but we enjoyed the mini hike.

We have stayed here twice and absolutely love it! It’s not too far out from the city so you can catch all the fun attractions in town, but it’s also very quiet and remote. Wonderful access to Lake Michigan.
Half of the sites are reservation only – which can be done on the website and the rest are first come first serve. I would recommend this as a nice place to stay as a couple or with the family and friends.

Wanted a little adventure for me and the kids, we were not disappointed. We arrived early enough, so we were able to park right near the beach. It's more rocks on the beach, but there are sandy areas to sit on as well. Very rocky near the waters edge also, which my kids didn't mind at all. As long as they got to swim. We also walked up the steps near the beach to do a little exploring, to walk along the cliffs and up by the trees. So glad we found this spot. Beautiful views from the beach!

Definitely a great experience. Find the trails! careful because some of trail seems ominous, especially the weird stairs they built. I'm not talking about the regular normal looking stairs at the top, I'm talking about the stairs you see further down.

A nice boat lanch with piers. You can walk out to the end of the breakwater too. You have some shoreline access, but more would be nice. A really cool trail that heads down to the beach and follows the limestone cliff. It was a very steep path on one side, so be careful if you attempt it. Also, part of the lower stairs were being worked on and are currently closed.
